Logan Alan Beckwith was a professional ballet dancer whose life reflected discipline, devotion, and profound reverence for the art of movement.

From his earliest training through his professional development, Logan embodied the quiet rigor of ballet—the unseen hours of repetition, the strength beneath stillness, and the humility required to serve something greater than oneself. To him, dance was never merely performance; it was responsibility, identity, and offering.

He gave his body to the work.
His mind to mastery.
His spirit to the art.

Logan understood that ballet demands total commitment—and he offered it freely. His legacy now lives on through every dancer who receives support, every young artist protected from silence, and every space where movement becomes survival and expression becomes freedom.

The Silenced Dancer is not a metaphor.
It is a continuation of his dedication, his discipline, and his devotion to the art form he loved.

The LAB Foundation is proud to announce our 2026 Scholarship Program!

We will be awarding $500 scholarships to qualified applicants who exemplify dedication, passion, and a commitment to both dance and community.

At the LAB Foundation, we believe in the transformative power of dance to unlock opportunities, empower individuals, and build brighter futures. Our Scholarship Program reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting aspiring dancers as they pursue academic excellence and personal growth.

About the Scholarship:

Our Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to deserving students who demonstrate:

• Academic achievement

• Leadership potential

• A strong commitment to positively impacting their communities

By offering this support, we hope to remove financial barriers and empower dancers to reach their full potential.

Scholarship Requirements:

• Must be a high school graduate

• Recommendation letters from a high school counselor and teacher

• Cumulative 3.0 GPA (unweighted)

• Completion of at least 70 hours of community service during high school

• A 300–700 word essay explaining your passion for dance

The purpose of the Silenced Dancer Scholarship will develop Leadership And Business opportunities (L.A.B) for people who desire to dream big. It will inspire a stronger self awareness towards a healthier life style for a better life/world for dancers.

At Silenced Dancer (SD) we believe in excelling to higher dancing levels that will impact individuals lifestyles in our society and communities. Our scholarship program models unique dancers who are driven to soar on a high level of dance.

Dance Scholarships

Dance is a discipline with so much variety that it’s no surprise many dancers find their passion in one or more of its forms.

While passion is the dancers, financially it can be challenging for dancers to pursuer this arena a career. Fortunately, this program supports artists and performers who are interested in dance.

​

Our son Logan took dancing very seriously and valued the quality of it that requires hard work, talent, and dedication. As a dancer, these traits, possessed the abilities that are required for the Silenced Dancer Scholarship. It’s an honor to  reward students who desire to get extra training that will lead them to a possible educational and career succeed goal.  

If you are interested in competitive dance, and passionate about dancing, this scholarships is for yourself.

The Logan A. Beckwith Foundation team plans to award $500 scholarships to seven dancers that will support their financial obligations at a dance center. We will award the scholarship directly to the center that the dancer is attending.  

The dancer is requested to submit a one page narrative explaining your Willingness Heartfelt Yearning (WHY) for dancing.

Scholarship Requirements 

Applicants must meet the criteria below to apply for the scholarship:

• Attend a licensed dance center/school.

• Dance Instructor recommendation.

• Elementary/ High School transcript 

• One recording of a dance performance 

• Submit a 700 -word essay explaining how dance, education community support environment and any other accomplishments in the dancers live
