The Story
The Logan Alan Beckwith LAB Foundation proudly welcomes Shia Edwards as its Founding Dance Ambassador and the first recipient of the $500 Logan Alan Beckwith LAB Foundation Dance Scholarship.
Before Shia ever knew me or my son, Logan Alan Beckwith, she graciously accepted an invitation to share her gift of dance during our 2025 launching the LAB foundation event honoring Logan’s life and legacy. She had never met Logan, yet through her artistry she beautifully honored the passion he carried for dance. That selfless act touched my heart and became the beginning of a very special connection.
When Shia submitted her scholarship application, her essay and dance performance reflected the very qualities our Executive Board was seeking: passion, discipline, humility, perseverance, artistic excellence, and a genuine love for dance. It became clear that she embodied the vision of the LAB Foundation.
Today, Shia serves as the face of dance for the LAB Foundation. Through her talent, character, and commitment, she will inspire young dancers to believe in themselves, pursue excellence, and understand that their gifts can create opportunities for others. We are honored to celebrate her journey and welcome her into the LAB Foundation family.

Why We Chose Shia
Every foundation has a beginning, and every legacy begins with someone willing to believe in the vision.
Shia Edwards became that person for the Logan Alan Beckwith LAB Foundation.
Before she knew our story, she honored Logan through dance. During the scholarship process, she demonstrated grace, humility, discipline, and a genuine love for the performing arts. Those qualities, combined with her remarkable talent, made her the unanimous choice to become our first scholarship recipient and Founding Dance Ambassador.

Dance Ambassador Mission
As the Founding Dance Ambassador of the Logan Alan Beckwith LAB Foundation, Shia Edwards represents the foundation by inspiring young dancers, sharing the mission of the LAB Foundation, encouraging future scholarship applicants, and helping carry forward Logan Alan Beckwith’s legacy of hope, compassion, service, and artistic excellence.
As the first Dance Ambassador in the history of the LAB Foundation, Shia will forever be recognized as the young artist who helped launch this vision for future generations of dancers.

A Message from The Founder

Watching Shia dance reminded me that Logan’s light continues to shine through the next generation. As the first recipient of the Logan Alan Beckwith LAB Foundation Dance Scholarship and our Founding Dance Ambassador, Shia represents the beginning of a vision that is much greater than one scholarship.
My son, Logan Alan Beckwith, was an extraordinary professional ballet dancer whose gift reached far beyond the stage. He loved deeply, served others wholeheartedly, and believed dance could inspire hope, healing, and purpose. Through the way he lived, he unknowingly left me a blueprint to continue his legacy.
My prayer is that one day the LAB Foundation will establish a dance studio in Logan’s honor, provide Dance Bundle Bags and scholarships to aspiring dancers, and extend this mission internationally by serving children in orphanages throughout Africa through the gift of dance.
Thank you, Shia, for saying yes to becoming the face of dance for the LAB Foundation. Your journey is now forever woven into Logan’s legacy, and together we will continue inspiring young dancers to dream, believe, and soar.
